What is an ENS Declration?
An Entry Summary Declaration is to ensure that products traveling into the European Union have the required safety declarations for products that are considered of higher risk such as fuel or firearms.
When did this happen?
ENS declarations for entry into Great Britain are deferred for most items under than high risk until January 2022. The Irish Revenue permitted the use of an emergency ENS that came to an end in April 2021.
Do I need an ENS for travel from Ireland to Great Britain?
Currently you do not unless the products are considered of high risk. Horses and tack are not considered of risk.
Why do I need an ENS for travel from Great Britain to Northern Ireland?
Northern Ireland remains part of the EU Single Market, and therefore must adopt the safety protocols as stated by the European Union. For citizens and business based in Northern Ireland, an ENS can be organised free of charge via the Traders Support Service (TSS)
